GBC ABYSS SP-i (Straight Pull-ignition) Series IIA BLACK LITE Rifle, caliber .223 Rem/5.56mm from Gun Supplies, Rotorua, New Zealand.


The GBC ABYSS SP-i Series IIA BLACK LITE Rifle name has come from the black colour of the rifle and the lite barrel that's been fitted.

The GBC ABYSS SP-i Series IIA BLACK LITE is a straight pull, single shot, spring operated bolt action rifle.

The bolt when fully charged (pulled) backwards is released, the forward returned motion of the bolt picks up a round from the magazine, chambering it.

The rifle incorporates specifically designed components that only fit the GBC ABYSS SP-i rifle.

Parts Specific to GBC ABYSS SP-i rifles are:

  • Upper & Lower Receiver with new branding
  • Bolt Carrier
  • Bolt Assembly
  • Bolt Catch
  • Ambidextrous Extended Magazine Catch
  • Barrel
  • Pull Lever Charging Rod Handle (Charging handle is reversible, left or right hand side)
  • Charging Handle Knob
  • Drop in Trigger Assembly

The BLACK LITE rifle is fitted with the following products:

  • TRI-CUT 12" Handguard 1-1/2" Diameter Full Length Top Picatinny Rail with M-Lok Cut-outs
  • 16" LITE Contour Barrel 1:9 Twist 223/556
  • Threaded Barrel End 1/2-28 with Thread Protector
  • VLTOR IMOD Butt-stock
  • A2 Style Pistol Grip
  • Mil-Spec Trigger Assembly
  • Ambidextrous Safety
  • Hard Black Anodised
  • The Rifle is finished with a hard black anodised coating on all the aluminium parts.
  • One (1) magazine is included with the rifle.
The rifles have been designed to fit the Magpul PMAG 10 round magazines, or any other polymer magazine.

  • SERVICE: Medium Target Contour Barrel, Mil-spec 5-7lb Trigger Group , Muzzle Brake, VLTOR IMOD Butt-Stock.
  • HUNTER: Medium Lite Contour Barrel, Drop in 3lb Trigger, Longer 15" Handguard, CTR Magpul Butt-Stock.
  • COMPETITION: Medium Lite Contour Barrel, Drop in 3lb Trigger, Carbon Fiber Handguard, Bigmouth Magwell, MFT Lightweight Butt-Stock.

When Gun Supplies receives the signed & stamped Mail Order or Internet Sales Authorisation Form, we will ship your purchase to the address on the Mail Order Form.

All Firearms are shipped Dealer to Dealer.
